Blood donation isn't a matter of bravery. It doesn't mean that you have the guts if you donated or going to donate blood. It's an act of benevolence, no doubt an altruistic act as you've learnt from moral studies. And it's a blessing knowing that someone else, somewhere else may get the blood and be saved.
We aren't paid for donating blood. For some donors, they might feel the pain when the large hollow needle injected into their arm. Some even have bruise after giving blood.
Regardless of blood group, either type O, A, AB, or B, as long as meeting the medical requirement, you are most welcomed to be one of the volunteer blood donor!
